- Inconvenience

All my adult life I have had chronic sinus infections and respiratory infections. These infections exacerbated my asthma condition.
Prior to surgery, which had been scheduled for late in the day, I had to stop eating or drinking for 12 hours. Everyone in the hospital outpatient surgery department was very friendly. I changed into a johnny, they gave me heated blankets, and I could watch TV in my bed while waiting for the surgery. One of the nurses asked me questions, then I talked to the anesthesiologist. They explained everything and offered to answer any questions I had. The surgeon was a little late because he was tied up in the prior surgery. He came to talk to me before I went in for the surgery. He made me feel very comfortable about the entire procedure and what I could expect afterwards.
The night after the procedure, I was very tired and in a little pain. I took the antibiotic as prescribed and the pain medication worked. I was able to rest comfortably. For post-op I used a nasal bulb syringe to suck the stuff out of my nose and rinsed my nose/sinuses with warm salt water 3-4 times a day. I rested at home for about a week and slowly resumed all normal activities.
My Advice
For me, with chronic sinus infections resulting from physical issues with the sinuses, this surgery seemed to make sense. I feel so much better and for the first time ever, my sinuses are clear and breathing is very much improved.
