Discuss with your doctor before the procedure the type and level of sedation you are interested in. (I didn’t want general anesthesia, so instead I got IV sedation which made me groggy (but awake) and local anesthesia which numbed my entire lower body. This approached decreased my anxiety about general anesthesia and the procedure.)

Take a full week off work and plan to do nothing but sit/lay down. If you recover faster, great, but don’t expect to.
