My Experience

Everything was very efficient. I checked in and was called into a changing room. I was asked to disrobe from the waist up and take off any deodorant residue; it has aluminum in it that can distort the results of the mammogram. I put on a robe, placed my stuff in a locker and waited a few minutes. I was then called into the mammogram room.

I was a little nervous because this was my first mammogram. The technician rested my breasts on a plate and then pulled a machine down onto them. Four different pictures were taken. It lasted maybe 5 minutes. It did not hurt. I have large breasts, so there was no pinching. I imagine that it might be more uncomfortable for women with smaller breast. I felt fine afterwards.

My Advice

It is no big deal – if you have large breasts. I can’t speak for people with smaller ones.
