About the rating

I had a mastectomy on one breast as part of my treatment for breast cancer. Before the surgery I had a number of tests, including a CT scan, MRI and bone scan.

I went in early in the morning to the hospital and paid my large co-payment. I got changed into my johnny and waited for my doctor. I signed consents for anesthesia and got something to relax (relax — very funny). I then went down to the OR and woke up with one breast. I remember asking if my lymph nodes were involved and the answer was “yes”. I got very sick from the anesthesia and then went up to the surgical floor.

While I was sick from anesthesia, I felt almost no pain. I went home early the next morning.

My Advice

Go slow during your discussions with your doctor and try to listen carefully. Get a second opinion.
