My Experience

When I learned that I had a thyroid problem with possible cancer and needed surgery, I was put in touch with Peggy Huddleston. Peggy is the author of “Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster” which is a guide of mind-body techniques to help you approach surgery calmer and get a better outcome. In essence, the goal is for the patient to realize he or she is not a victim of the surgical procedure, but a partner with the medical staff to cure the body. The medical personnel at the hospital were very supportive of the techniques prescribed by this program.

I made up my mind based upon Peggy’s book and the input I received from zero balancing sessions that it was important that I spend time taking care of myself. I listened to the CD that is part of Peggy’s program about five times before my surgery. She leads you through short meditation and visualization practices where you program your body for healing. I believe that my excellent recovery was a result of following the recommendations set forth by Peggy.

My Advice

Go into it with any open mind. Studies have shown that the mind is a powerful instrument that can assist in recovery.
