My Experience

I went to the dermatologist for a full-body check. The doctor noticed a mole on my arm that appeared suspicious, so she decided to take it off that day and send it to be tested. I was surprised at her ability to do the procedure the same day, but it only took a few minutes. The doctor used local anesthetic to numb my arm and then removed the mole.

Afterwards, I was able to do everything I would normally do. I put a Band-Aid on it to help keep it clean and out of the sun; I was even able to swim later that afternoon. I applied ointment to help it heal, but unfortunately, it grew back so I had to return for a similar procedure two months later. Eight months later, it still does not look completely healed, but the dermatologist said it was clear.

My Advice

Keep a close eye on the wound after the procedure to make sure it is healing properly.
