A nonstress test is used after 26-28 weeks of pregnancy to help assess a fetus’ response to stimuli. It is a noninvasive test that involves the measurement of fetal heartbeat during movement as reported by the mother and/or observed via ultrasound.

I loved going to these things. There is so much anxiety at the end of a pregnancy, especially with multiples, and it was great knowing that at least once a week I had specialists checking to make sure that my little peanuts weren’t doing anything they weren’t supposed to be doing.
