About the rating

Large nodules were discovered in my neck. A biopsy was inclusive and surgery was recommended to remove half of my thyroid.

The staff at the hospital was great. It made me feel very comfortable and confident in their ability. I was more nervous about the location of the surgery being on my neck than the doctors and nurses there. The doctor was terrific and made me feel relaxed, less nervous and less scared.

After the surgery, my throat was very sore but I think it was more from the breathing tube than the procedure. I only needed to take pain medication for a few days. I was able to go back to work five days after the surgery.

My Advice

Ask lots of questions and research your doctor and the facility where you are having the procedure.
