About the rating

I had a radical neck dissection as the last step of treatment for throat cancer.

I had some dietary restrictions prior to the surgery as part of my overall treatment plan. Leading up to the surgery, I was weakened by radiation and chemotherapy. The surgery itself went smoothly. I was relieved that my treatment was finally complete. I was in the hospital for four days after the surgery.

My Advice

Choose a doctor who explains everything, in advance, and to your satisfaction. Ask questions and have the surgeon explain all the risks and after-care.
