My Experience

I had a cavity that was too far gone and needed to be drilled to remove the nerves in the canal of the tooth. I arrived at the dentist’s office and was quickly placed in a room and waited for the dentist. He came in and described the procedure to me and then began. I was given a local anesthetic; it stung for a second but was not a big deal. There was quite a bit of drilling after the local anesthetic numbed my mouth. The time passed quickly, though, because of a movie I was watching. The procedure didn’t hurt at all but the smell from the drilling was unpleasant. Overall, the root canal was quick and painless and nothing to worry about. The dentist and his assistant were great. Afterwards, the only recovery needed was to wait for the numbing to go away.

My Advice

Don’t wait! The procedure is quick and simple. The longer you wait, the worse shape your mouth could be in.
