About the rating

The goal of the surgery was to increase airflow through my nose and reduce the effects of snoring and sleep apnea.

I was told not to eat or drink anything after midnight on the day of the procedure. I arrived one hour before the surgery to check in. I changed clothes and walked into the preop area. They started an IV and I met with my entire surgical team, including the nurses, doctor and anesthesiologist. I was given an injection to relax. I then have no memory until the recovery.

I woke up and felt some pain and had some bleeding, though very little. I left the recover area after an hour. My total time at the hospital was about five hours.

I had minor discomfort for a few days afterwards. I managed the pain by taking pain medication for the first two days. It took me two-and-a-half weeks for full recovery when I felt back to normal.

My Advice

Your nose may run for a week following the surgery and you’re not supposed to blow your nose; not a huge deal, but be prepared for it. Overall, the procedure was not that bad.
