My primary care physician found a nodule on my thyroid during a routine visit. He recommended a thyroid biopsy.
There was no preparation. Before the biopsy the doctor examined the thyroid, was able to feel the nodule and performed the biopsy after explaining the procedure. There was minimal discomfort at the site of the biopsy and I continued with my usual routine.
My Advice
For me, the procedure was almost painless. If you are anxious, discuss your feelings with the doctor.
