My Experience

The doctor had be put my feet up on stirrups. I looked away as the doctor pulled out a needle and proceeded to insert it at the top of my scrotal sac. This was briefly pretty painful. The rest of the procedure was painless: a snip, a twist, a hiss of cauterization, and finally a stitch up. I felt this was amazingly easy until the doctor told me I had two testicles and he had to repeat the same injection on the other half of the scrotal sac. A short time later, after the second part of the procedure was once again painlessly performed, I was helped up rather humbly to my feet. Aiding me to pull up my boxers and sweatpants, the doctor bid me farewell and committed me to three days on the couch with an ice pack.

The experience: Bar the injections, the procedure went well. However, I wish the doctor had checked my boxers and recommended that I use something more supportive; I spent three very uncomfortable days with balls the size of an orange but the color of a beet until I called up the doctor and he told me to get “tighty-whities.” After two weeks I was back to normal and the stitches had dissolved.

My Advice

Don’t wear boxers after the procedure; instead, get some pairs of “tighty-whities” for the support and wear them for several days.
